BenaBadBeat Shares His Poker Journey and Pandemic Experiences

Poker player BenaBadBeat recently joined Psek1 and D7o1d1s0 on a podcast to discuss his career and the impact of the pandemic on his life and the poker community. BenaBadBeat played 490,000 hands with a win rate of ~5bb/100 and won $140k in 2019.

BenaBadBeat started playing poker with friends and quickly fell in love with the game. He shared stories about his early days, including playing on Attheraces.com while working at Tesco and losing a significant amount of money. He also mentioned playing from his friend Simon's garage and the unique situation of playing against each other without realizing it.

The pandemic has had a significant impact on BenaBadBeat's life. His girlfriend has an autoimmune disease, and they both must stay home due to the pandemic. He has transitioned his psychotherapy sessions to online, which presents challenges in terms of confidentiality and emotional connection. Despite these challenges, BenaBadBeat finds playing poker comforting during these uncertain times, as it helps him focus and feel safe. D7o1d1s0, who is currently in Mexico, described his flight from Birmingham as a nightmare due to the behavior of passengers. Psek1 and his girlfriend work from home and rarely go out, considering themselves lucky due to the pandemic.
