Ben Tollerens: The Poker Pro Who Beat Victor Bloom for $1.5M

Ben Tollerens, known by his online poker nickname Ben86/Bttech86, has made a significant mark in the poker world, winning over $4.5 million in the last three years. His journey in poker began in 2006 when he registered on 2+2 and started reading about poker extensively. Ben Tollerens began his poker career with a $1,000 bankroll, initially playing NL25 and then moving to higher stakes.

In 2009, Ben Tollerens switched to PLO, feeling that NLHE had become too crowded with experienced players. He has since played against notable players like Gus Hansen. Recently, Ben Tollerens has been playing PLO $500/$1,000 with a cap against Victor Bloom, winning $1.5 million from him this year. Despite a recent loss of $748,005 in a single session, Ben Tollerens prefers playing heads-up PLO and has improved his psychology, no longer fearing downswings.

Ben Tollerens' preference for heads-up PLO is evident in his recent activities. He has played 13,000 hands against Victor Bloom this month alone. When asked about his strategy, Ben Tollerens mentioned that he believes he has an advantage in these high-stakes games. He also shared that he enjoys the psychological aspect of the game and the challenge of playing against strong opponents like Victor Bloom.
