The Bellagio Heist: How Toney Carleo Robbed a Vegas Casino
Toney Carleo robbed the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas on December 2010. He was dressed in a dark jumpsuit, rubber gloves, and a motorcycle helmet with a lowered visor. Carleo had robbed the Suncoast casino five days before the Bellagio robbery. Carleo had previously lived in Colorado and worked in various jobs including bartending, limousine rental, DJing, and selling drugs. He had moved to Las Vegas 16 months before the robbery to study at the University of Nevada. Carleo had declared bankruptcy in May 2009.
Carleo had lost half of his savings in the Bellagio casino before planning the robbery. He had initially planned to rob the poker room and a Cartier store but changed his mind. Carleo had stolen around $1.5 million in chips from the Bellagio casino. He had returned to the Bellagio casino the next day to exchange the stolen chips for cash.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
