Barkley on 2026-27 Season: Rockets Struggle, 76ers Face Challenges
NBA legend Charles Barkley has shared his thoughts on various teams and players ahead of the 2026-27 season. Barkley believes the Houston Rockets are not likely to win the Western Conference in 2026-27. He thinks the trade for Kevin Durant has been a net-negative for the Rockets.
The Rockets went 52-30 in the 2024-25 season and lost in the first round of the playoffs. Barkley started his career with the 76ers, who are expected to have a big spotlight this season after adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown. LeBron James signed a two-year contract with the 76ers, declining a chance to return to the Cavaliers.
Barkley believes the Eastern Conference is stronger than the Western Conference this season. The Spurs and Thunder are expected to dominate the Western Conference for the next five years.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
