Bally's Las Vegas Ballpark Project Faces Funding Delays
The Athletics are scheduled to open their new stadium on the Las Vegas Strip in 2028. However, Bally’s Corporation, which is supposed to build retail shops, and a casino hotel resort surrounding the stadium, is facing funding issues that may delay the opening of these properties.
Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority CEO Steve Hill stated that Bally’s does not yet have the financing in place to complete these projects. This news comes after Bally’s CFO Mira Mircheva told the Nevada Gaming Control Board that the company expects to open retail establishments when the $2 billion stadium is unveiled.
Due to these funding concerns, the Athletics may have to spend more to shore up some of the planned amenities for the ballpark. This could include a parking structure, adding as much as $60 million to $100 million to the team’s share of costs. Additionally, Bally’s is in the midst of other major projects, including finishing up a permanent Chicago casino.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
