Bally's Corp Faces Solvency Concerns as CFO Steps Down
Bally’s Corp. is facing significant challenges as its Executive Vice President and CFO, Mira Mircheva, announced her departure from the company. Effective Friday, September 30, 2026, Mircheva will remain with Bally’s through the transition period. Her exit comes amid growing solvency concerns for the company, which has issued a warning about its ability to continue operations over the next year due to its substantial debt.
The company’s solvency warning was included in its second quarter report to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in August 2026. Bally’s Corp. has $4.5 billion in debt and a market capitalization of just $500 million, according to Yahoo Finance. To address these financial challenges, Bally’s is pursuing various financing alternatives, including asset monetization, an equity sale, and debt financing.
In response to Mircheva’s departure, the company’s board of directors appointed George Papanier as interim CFO. Papanier, who has over 40 years of gaming industry experience, will retain his current roles as president and board member during the search for a permanent CFO. Papanier has previously served as interim CFO in 2023 and has a deep understanding of Bally’s operations, having held key leadership roles within the company.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
