Azerbaijan Cracks Down on Gambling with New Fines
Azerbaijan has recently amended its code of administrative offenses to include fines for gambling and advertising. The government has decided to impose stricter measures on gambling activities, following in the footsteps of neighboring Georgia, which recently introduced similar restrictions.
Fines for organizing gambling in Azerbaijan will range from $3,000 to $30,000, depending on the category of the offender. The same fines will be applied for advertising gambling activities. This move is expected to lead to a significant outflow of investments in the gambling sector from the country.
Previously, while gambling was prohibited in Azerbaijan, organizers of illegal gambling activities faced minimal penalties. The new legislation aims to address this loophole by imposing substantial fines on both individuals and legal entities involved in unauthorized gambling operations.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
