Australian Gambling Firms Reject Claims of Offering Drugs and Alcohol to Former NRL Star
Australian gambling firms Sportsbet and Tabcorp have strongly denied claims made by former National Rugby League (NRL) star Luke Bateman and anti-gambling advocate Tim Costello. The firms refute allegations that they offered drugs, cocaine, and sex to high-roller players to keep them engaged.
Jules Norton Selzer, Director of Corporate Affairs at Sportsbet, stated that no evidence has been provided to support these claims. Selzer urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that Sportsbet is committed to ensuring that its adult customers enjoy their products safely and responsibly.
Julian Whealing, Head of Government Affairs at Tabcorp, echoed similar sentiments, urging anyone with evidence to support the claims to provide it to the firms for further investigation.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
