Poker Pro Artur Martirosyan Reflects on Poker Masters Series
Poker player Artur Martirosyan recently participated in the Poker Masters series, where he faced high-stakes tournaments with buy-ins up to $25,000. Martirosyan mentioned that he enjoys playing in high-stakes tournaments with strong competition, finding the experience more interesting than typical buy-ins.
During the series, Martirosyan had several notable matches. He faced Alex Foxen in a heads-up match and lost despite having a strong hand. Martirosyan recalled, "In the first heads-up against Alex Foxen, nothing interesting happened. Everything was decided in one big showdown, where I had about 65-70% of the chips in play. There, I just didn't get lucky."
One of the longest heads-up matches Martirosyan had was with Dan Smith, which lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes. "We played quite fast, but started with very deep stacks. I had 135 blinds, and he had 100. Therefore, it turned out to be the longest. The duel with Dan Smith is probably the one that I liked the least. I have an internal feeling that I could have done something differently." Martirosyan also discussed a heads-up match with Linus Lölliger where he felt he couldn't have played differently. "With Linus, we just got two coolers. One not entirely obvious, where I had a top pair, and he had an overpair of kings."

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
