Poker Pro Artur Martirosyan Sleeps Through Tournament, Finishes Second
Professional poker player Artur Martirosyan found himself in an unusual situation during a recent tournament on GGpoker. Martirosyan participated in the Blade Mulligan tournament for $2,625. He felt sleepy and turned on bright light to stay awake.
Martirosyan woke up two hours later to find he had finished in second place. He estimated he lost around $5,000 due to his sleep. "I don’t remember the moment I fell asleep. I can’t say I’m too happy with second place, as I lost about $5,000 in expectations," Martirosyan said.
While Martirosyan was asleep, Bruno Volkmann eliminated three opponents. Volkmann then easily defeated the "sleeping" Martirosyan to take the first place.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
