Arnold Ventures Allocates $2.6M to Study Sports Betting Impact Across the US
Arnold Ventures has dedicated $2.6 million to 12 new research grants to analyze the impact of sports betting across the US.
The research will focus on consumer behavior, financial decisions, household impacts, and public health and social outcomes. The research will suggest steps for policymakers and stakeholders to decrease at-risk and problem gambling. It is expected to provide unique insights and help policymakers better understand how the sports betting expansion across the United States is affecting constituents.
Justin Milner, Arnold Ventures’ Executive Vice President of Evidence and Evaluation, spoke about the 12 new research grants. He pointed out that these research projects will shed light on the impacts of this new reality and help policymakers weigh important decisions about whether to legalize gambling, how to regulate it, and how to effectively reduce harm for their constituents.
