APMProf: How Tennis and Poker Can Improve Your Mental Game

APMProf, a teacher for the Cash Project, compares tennis and poker to help improve concentration and emotional management. In a new class, APMProf proposes a unique and enriching approach for Cash Project students by drawing parallels between tennis and poker. Although these two disciplines seem distinct at first glance, they share key mental fundamentals that can make the difference between winning and losing.

APMProf teaches that factors such as pressure management, resilience after mistakes, patience, and the ability to concentrate are common in both tennis and poker. The teacher also emphasizes the importance of maintaining routines, not letting frustration take over, and having a solid game plan that allows for better decisions throughout a session.

This class opens the door to transversal learning: applying tennis principles to poker. It helps develop a stronger mindset, focused on the long term, and prepared to face variance and competitive demands with the right attitude.
