Andy Bloch Reveals Details About Full Tilt Poker's Financial Turmoil

Andy Bloch, a partner in Tiltware and one of the owners of Full Tilt Poker (FTP), recently sat down for an interview to discuss the financial turmoil and the 'Black Friday' scandal that rocked the poker world. Bloch was not involved in the day-to-day operations or the board of directors of FTP before the 'Black Friday' incident, but he was aware that FTP was operating illegally in the USA and that the Department of Justice was seizing funds.

Bloch mentioned that significant amounts of money were seized, including over $40 million from Intabill and around $30 million from Douglas Rennick's Accounts Services. He stated that he did not know the full extent of the financial issues until after 'Black Friday'.

In the aftermath of 'Black Friday', Bloch traveled to Amsterdam and then to Dublin to assess the situation and participate in decision-making processes. He was involved in some negotiations with potential investors in April and May 2011. Bloch mentioned that around $60 million was 'paused' in foreign banks, with some funds being quickly unfrozen while others took months.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
