Sorokin's first victory came in the WPT Omaha Hi-Lo Second Chance tournament. This two-day knockout tournament, with a buy-in of $1,575, attracted 55 entries and offered a prize pool of $82,500. At the final table, Sorokin faced off against notable players including Swedish professional Niklas Astedt, Russian Daniil Shalaev, and Belarusian Maxim Shuts. For his win, Sorokin earned $10,645 in prize money and an additional $18,470 in bounties.
The following day, Sorokin secured another victory in the WPT Omaha Hi-Lo Closer tournament, which had a buy-in of $1,050. With 50 players participating, seven made it to the prize pool. Among them were Daniil Shalaev and Maxim Shuts again. In the final heads-up, Sorokin faced Denis Lebedev, who plays under the British flag on PartyPoker. The two players split the prize pool almost evenly, with Sorokin taking home $15,915 and Lebedev earning $15,085.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
