Andrey Pateychuk Wins Big in Las Vegas: CPPT DeepStack Tournament Victory
Andrey Pateychuk's victory in the CPPT DeepStack tournament in Las Vegas has made headlines. The tournament, held at the Venetian, was the last major event of the summer in Vegas. Pateychuk's win allowed him to cover the costs of the World Series of Poker, which had not been particularly successful for him despite a deep run in the main event.
Pateychuk placed 179th in the main event, earning five buy-ins. His deep run in the main event was not enough to cover the costs of the series, but his victory in the CPPT DeepStack tournament brought him $547,777 in prize money. The battle for the DeepStack title lasted four days, during which Pateychuk had to change his return tickets twice.
In other news, Chris Moneymaker and David Oppenheim were inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. Moneymaker's victory in the main event of the World Series of Poker in 2003 led to a poker boom known as the 'Moneymaker Effect'. Oppenheim is considered one of the strongest specialists in live mixed games at the highest limits. Additionally, Patrik Antonius faced a tough few days in Bobby's Room, losing over $500,000. He also shared the sad news of the passing of his beloved dog, a French bulldog named Luigi. Furthermore, Robert Alexander, the founder of the company behind GTA, owed Antonius $700,000. Rob Yong of partypoker launched a campaign to gain 100,000 Twitter followers, offering significant prizes and donations to charity if he succeeds.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
