Amaya Gaming Sues Erik Lindgren for Over $2.5 Million in Unpaid Debts
Amaya Gaming has filed a lawsuit against poker pro Erik Lindgren for unpaid debts totaling over $2.5 million. The dispute stems from a payroll error and unpaid loans from Full Tilt Poker.
In 2011, an unknown employee of Full Tilt Poker mistakenly sent Erik Lindgren two payments instead of one, totaling $2 million. Lindgren was supposed to receive around $250,000 monthly, but the payments were irregular. The error was discovered, and Full Tilt Poker repeatedly asked Lindgren to return the extra $2 million, but he was too busy with sports betting.
In addition to the payroll error, Lindgren had taken loans from Full Tilt Poker to cover tournament buy-ins. These loans, along with the unpaid wages, brought his total debt to over $2.5 million. Despite Lindgren's bankruptcy proceedings, the debt was not included in his list of liabilities, and he continued to play in tournaments, even winning a bracelet at the World Series of Poker in 2013.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
