Ali Imširović, a Bosnian-born poker player from Vancouver, won a record-breaking $974,630 online poker hand against Tan Huang from China. The hand was played on GG Poker, part of the GG Network, which recently changed the rake size for Omaha and Hold'em 6+ tables across all poker rooms in its network.
The previous record for the largest online poker hand was $842,438, played between Victor Malinovsky and Michael Addamo. This hand was also played on the GG Network.
Imširović won the hand with A♠-K♠ against Huang's 9♦-7♦. The flop was 5♦-5♥-9♠, the turn was J♠, and the river was 8♠. Huang pushed all-in on the river, and Imširović called, securing the win.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
