Ali Imsirovic Wins Ninth Major Live Tournament of the Year

Bosnian high roller poker player Ali Imsirovic has once again made headlines by winning his ninth major live tournament this year. The Venetian High Roller 05 tournament, held at the Venetian casino, featured a buy-in of $10,000 and attracted 34 entrants, resulting in a prize pool of $340,000.

Imsirovic's victory was a dominant one, as he secured the top prize of $136,000. Following closely behind was Eric Warre, who finished as the runner-up and earned $88,400. The remaining prize money was distributed among American players, with Shawn Winter taking third place and $54,400, Kari Katz finishing fourth with $37,400, and Kathy Weyer securing fifth place and $23,800.

In the final hand, Imsirovic opened with K♦-K♣ from the button, and Warre called with Q♥-7♥ from the big blind. The flop, Q♣-7♦-3♥, gave Warre two pairs and a backdoor flush draw. Imsirovic's set of kings on the turn, K♥, put him in a strong position, but Warre still had a backdoor flush draw and four outs to a full house. The river, 5♠, sealed Imsirovic's victory and cemented his status as one of the top poker players in the world.
