PokerStars Welcomes Alexey Makarov as New Online Pro
PokerStars has announced a new team of 23 online professionals, including Russian player Alexey Makarov. The selection process involved reviewing 2,000 applications, and Makarov, known as LuckyGump, was one of the fortunate few chosen to join the prestigious team.
Makarov received the offer to join PokerStars Online Pro in early October and signed the contract on December 15. The contract is for one year, but PokerStars hopes for long-term cooperation. Makarov has been playing at high limits on PokerStars since May 2007 and has shown stable results, which likely contributed to his selection.
Makarov expressed his satisfaction with the contract, noting that the conditions set by PokerStars do not cause him any inconvenience. He also mentioned that he did not inquire about the reasons behind his selection, but he believes that his long-term play and adherence to the room's rules may have influenced the decision.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
