The Socios platform, founded in 2018 by Dreyfus, allows sports organizations to create virtual tokens that can be used to monetize their fan bases. The platform has seen a surge in the value of its tokens, with the $PSG token almost doubling in value upon Messi's arrival. The Chiliz technology, conceived in 2016 by the Winamax co-founder, determines the value of specific virtual entities, or crypto coins, which are used to power the Socios platform.

Despite warnings from organizations not to use the soccer-themed coins as financial assets, the Paris Saint-Germain coin was purchased at a staggering rate. Dreyfus has been active in the tech industry for over 25 years, with a diverse portfolio that includes founding an online interactive tourism business called Webcity, creating successful poker websites Winamax and Chilipoker, and starting a digital sports marketing company called Mediarex.
