Poker Pro Aleksey Borovkov's Bold Bluff: A Deep Dive into Range Management
In late August, Uri Peleg launched a video series focusing on how top poker players manage their ranges. The series uses a hand between Aleksey Borovkov and Artem Shaganov to illustrate key concepts.
The hand took place at a $100/$200 table on GG. Aleksey opened with a 2.5 BB call from the cutoff, and Artem defended the big blind. On the flop, Aleksey bet half the pot, and Artem called. On the turn, Aleksey bet 8.25 BB, and Artem responded with a check-raise to 28.87 BB, which Aleksey called. On the river, Artem checked, and Aleksey pushed all-in for 68.33 BB, which Artem called with a flush.
Uri Peleg highlighted that Aleksey's bluff was impressive, but subscribers of the Telegram channel 'What on the River?' criticized it. Aleksey commented that he was unsure if he played the hand well and acknowledged that his bluff was likely poor. The solver analysis showed that Aleksey's push on the river was a valid bluff according to GTO principles.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
