Africa's iGaming Industry Urged to Prioritize Suicide Prevention
Casino Guru recently participated in the 'Supporting At-Risk Customers: Suicide Prevention Training' webinar aimed at strengthening harm and suicide prevention expertise across the iGaming landscape in Africa.
The webinar brought together experts, African NGOs, researchers, counsellors, and Casino Guru Academy to discuss how operators can recognize suicide risk, respond to crises, and collaborate with local support organizations.
The core concept of the webinar was to help operators understand the urgency of treating suicide prevention as an integral part of long-term player protection. Operators need to look past compliance and focus on real-world results, with suicide prevention being an integral part of their responsible gambling strategy. The webinar emphasized the importance of keeping crisis contacts and self-exclusion links visible and easy to access. Operators must work on budget limits, loss reminders, and have cooling-off periods, while also partnering with local NGOs' helplines and counselling networks.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
