ACMA Orders Palmerbet to Review Compliance After Self-Exclusion Breaches
Palmerbet has been ordered to conduct a review of its compliance processes and apply recommendations over self-exclusion rule breaches. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has taken enforcement action against Palmerbet for breaches of self-exclusion rules. Palmerbet did not close the account of a person who had registered with BetStop, the nation’s self-exclusion program, until February 2025.
The individual registered with the self-exclusion scheme in September 2023, but the individual's account was not closed until February 2025. Over the period, Palmerbet accepted 312 bets from the individual, with the activity continuing between December 2024 and February 2025.
ACMA has accepted an 18-month court-enforceable undertaking which will see Palmerbet conduct a comprehensive independent review of its compliance processes and ensure that any recommendations needed are implemented at once. Palmerbet has also made sure to repay the individual their deposits through February 2025. Palmerbet must comply or face legal proceedings by ACMA in a Federal Court.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
