ACMA Fines Dabble for Responsible Gambling Failures
The Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA) has fined Dabble Sports Pty Ltd (trading as Dabble) for breaching online gambling self-exclusion rules. The fine, amounting to AU$1,069,200 ($760,415), was issued due to serious violations of responsible gambling practices.
ACMA member Carolyn Lidgerwood described the violations as 'deeply concerning' and emphasized that individuals who have self-excluded from online gambling activities via BetStop should not be targeted with gambling promotions. 'These were serious breaches by Dabble. Wagering providers must have robust systems in place to protect people who have chosen to self-exclude,' Lidgerwood explained.
The investigation by ACMA highlighted the importance of stringent measures to ensure that gambling providers adhere to responsible gambling guidelines. The fine serves as a stark reminder to the industry about the consequences of failing to protect vulnerable individuals from gambling-related harm.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
