888poker Launches UKPL Manchester Challenge: Qualify for the Big Freeroll
888poker has announced an exciting challenge for UK poker players, giving them a chance to qualify for the UK Poker League (UKPL) Manchester Main Event. The UKPL Manchester event is the penultimate stop of the season, following successful festivals in Luton, Blackpool, and Reading South. The qualifying freeroll is scheduled for September 6, 2026, providing ample time for players to organize their schedules.
The path to qualifying is straightforward: UK players need to participate in at least 40 tournaments with buy-ins of at least £5 in the weeks leading up to the freeroll. This includes both regular and BLAST tournaments, making it easier to meet the requirement. The freeroll will award 30 seats for the £560 Main Event, ensuring that 30 lucky players will have the opportunity to compete in the prestigious tournament.
This season, the UK Poker League has seen remarkable results. The season-opening event in Luton attracted 556 entries, setting a new record for the largest prize pool in UKPL’s history. The Blackpool Main Event featured a standout performance by 83-year-old Lilian Welch, who captured the title and a payday of over £31,000. In July, the UKPL Reading South event saw a similar turnout with 313 entries, highlighting the growing popularity and excitement surrounding the league.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
