Final Table Set for Record-Breaking 2023 WSOP Main Event
The 2023 World Series of Poker Main Event has made history with 10,043 entries, surpassing the previous record set in 2006. The first-place prize is a staggering $12,100,000, with the final table action scheduled for Sunday, July 16, and Monday, July 17. The minimum payout for the remaining nine players is $900,000, ensuring that everyone at the table will leave as a millionaire if they are not already.
Steven Jones, an American non-pro player, is seated first with 75 big blinds. Jones, a 35-year-old, has had success in the World Series of Poker in the past, with his first two live tournament cashes being WSOP scores. Juan Maceiras, a Spaniard, is seated second with 57 big blinds. Maceiras has a live tournament record of $1.1 million and has had success on significant stages, including a fifth-place finish in the €10,400 European Poker Tour Grand Final in Madrid in 2011.
Daniel Holzner, a 30-year-old Italian, is seated third with 27 big blinds. Holzner received his WSOP Main Event buy-in as a gift for his 30th birthday and is playing the event for the first time. Adam Walton, an American, is the current chip leader with 120 big blinds. Walton has almost $1 million in live tournament winnings and previously finished 42nd in the 2021 WSOP Main Event. Ruslan Prydryk, a Ukrainian, is seated fifth with 42 big blinds. Prydryk has almost $462,000 in live tournament earnings with a single cash in previous WSOP events.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
