Mistakes and Missteps: The Worst Hands from the 2013 WSOP Main Event Heads-Up
The 2013 WSOP Main Event heads-up featured several notable mistakes. Ryan Riss, known as 'Megatron,' played against Farber, who made several poor decisions.
Farber made several mistakes with small pocket pairs against Megatron. In one hand, Farber had 5x 5x and decided to 4-bet instead of going all-in, which was a significant error. Megatron's opening raise with Kx Tx was the only reasonable action in the hand. Farber's poor 3-bet with Ax 8x against Megatron's Kx Tx was another mistake. Megatron's raise on the flop was one of the worst actions in the hand, as it significantly narrowed his range and showed weakness.
In another hand, Farber had 5x 3x and decided to check-raise against Megatron's Ax Ax 8x, which was a poor decision. Farber also folded J5s and Q5o on the button with ~11 bbs effective stack, which was another mistake. Overall, Farber's poor hand selection and sizing in his 3-bet contributed to his downfall in the heads-up.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
