Overbet in poker
Definition
A bet that is larger than the size of the pot.
An overbet is used with the strongest hands and with bluffs together, on boards where the player's range is much stronger than the opponent's. It puts maximum pressure on bluff-catchers.
Because it risks a lot, an overbet should be backed by a clear plan for both value and bluffs.
