Betting actions
Check in poker
Definition
To pass the action to the next player without betting, which is only possible when no one has bet yet in the round.
A check keeps you in the hand for free. Players check to see a free card, to trap with a strong hand or because they have nothing to bet.
If everyone checks, the betting round ends and the next card is dealt.
