Poker Player Yuri Shares His Experiences and Lessons Learned

Yuri, a dedicated poker player, did not engage in high-stakes games like his colleague Alexander 'Fatal' Kostritsin. Instead, he focused on playing frequently and documenting his experiences. Initially, Yuri lost around $1,500 but gradually started winning tournaments, although he often lost the money on higher-stakes games.

Yuri frequently played tournaments with notable players like Asma, MCA, r^Hanzo, and Fatal. After a significant loss, Yuri decided to improve his skills by studying poker extensively. He spent 80% of his poker time learning and only 20% playing. Yuri emphasized that poker is not an easy game to master and that many players, including himself, have experienced significant losses.

Yuri also discussed the importance of choosing the right poker room. He highlighted factors such as the number of players, quality of opponents, bonuses, rakeback, and the user interface. He provided detailed insights into the random number generator (RNG) characteristics of various poker rooms, including WilliamHillPoker, PokerStars, UltimateBet, PartyPoker, and BetHoldem. Yuri recounted an experience where he won most of the hands and large pots in a poker game at the 'Corona' casino, showcasing his improving skills.
