WSOP November Nine: Phil Ivey Leads the Pack
The WSOP Main Event final table is set for November 7, with nine players returning to the table. The blinds will be 120,000 and 240,000 with an ante of 30,000. The average stack is approximately 21,650,000 chips.
Darvin Moon from the USA is the chip leader with 58,930,000 chips. He qualified for the Main Event by winning a satellite in a small casino in Virginia with a $130 buy-in. Moon, who is 45 years old, has had a remarkable run of luck, and his opponents have noted his solid poker skills.
James Akenhead from England has the smallest stack with 6,800,000 chips. Despite this, he has shown strong, tight-aggressive play throughout the tournament. Phil Ivey from the USA has 9,765,000 chips and is considered the favorite to win. Kevin Schaffel, also from the USA, has 12,390,000 chips and is the oldest player at the final table. Steven Begleiter, another American, has 29,885,000 chips and previously worked as a director of strategic development at Bear Stearns.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
