WSOP 2018: Poker Stars Share Their Thoughts on Twitter
The WSOP 2018 has been a hot topic on Twitter, with many poker stars sharing their thoughts and experiences.
Doug Polk (@DougPolkPoker) joked about the German football team's performance, comparing it to the introduction of a timer in high roller tournaments. He tweeted, 'This was the saddest day for the German people since the timer was introduced in high roller tournaments.' Jared Jaffe (@jaredjaffee21) humorously suggested that Germany might have performed better if their players wore scarves and stared at Koreans before each hand. Will Jaffe (@dankness3) blamed the delays in the game on age rather than nationality, stating, 'Playing tournaments is fun until a young reg opens from an early position with huge headphones and gets a 3-bet, because then you have to watch his stupid face for the next ten minutes.'
Martin Jacobson (@Martin_Jacobson) proposed using a boxing idea to replace players who take too long to act. He tweeted, 'At the World Championship, we should use the idea from boxing - if a player lies on the grass for more than ten seconds, he is obviously not able to continue the game and should be replaced.' Greg Merson (@GregMerson) suggested voting on the tournament timer and protecting the poker ecosystem by canceling re-entries. He tweeted, 'The commercial success of tournaments like Monster Stack proves that good collections do not require re-entries at all.'

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
