WSOP 2012: New Rules, Tournaments, and Streaming Details Announced

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2012 will allow players to talk about their hands during a deal, but they cannot expose their cards or name them directly. This change comes after much debate, particularly from players like Daniel Negreanu, who found the previous rule restrictive.

The WSOP 2012 will feature a PLO/NLHE Heads-Up tournament, thanks to Ty Stewart. He expressed his enthusiasm for the tournament, stating, "I like it for the sickos." Additionally, there will be approximately 100 tables for cash games, offering various games and limits.

The November Nine final will be moved to October due to the US presidential elections. WSOP.com will stream the final tables of 60 tournaments with a five-minute delay, without showing cards. The streaming schedule will be announced on the official WSOP Twitter account. The WSOP 2012 will include three tournaments broadcast on ESPN: The Big One For One Drop, WSOP National Championship, and the main tournament. Caesars has integrated poker players into their Total Rewards program, allowing points to be earned and spent on various services.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
