World Poker Tour Brings High-Stakes Action to South Korea

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is set to make history in South Korea with a series of high-stakes tournaments from July 15 to 24, 2024. The WPT One Drop event will be held in South Korea for the first time, marking a significant milestone in the tour's expansion into the Asian market.

The WPT Korea main event has a guaranteed prize pool of $1.5 million, with a $2,550 buy-in. Additionally, a $12,735 high roller competition will be part of the lineup. The WPT partnered with the One Drop Foundation in February 2024, continuing a tradition of high-stakes charity events. The WPT Korea main event and high roller tournaments will be live-streamed for free on platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, ensuring that fans worldwide can follow the action.

This venture into South Korea is part of the WPT's broader strategy to establish itself as a genuinely global poker tour. The WPT's efforts through its WPT Global initiative have been substantial, and this move into Asia is set to leave a significant mark on the poker scene.
