World Cup 2026: Which Cities Are Ready to Welcome Tourists?

With the World Cup 2026 just around the corner, the host cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are preparing for a month-long influx of tourists. While some residents are excited about the event, others are not as enthusiastic. A survey conducted by Casino Guru USA reveals the friendliest and least-friendly host cities for tourists.

San Francisco tops the list as the friendliest World Cup host city for tourists, scoring 88/100. Nearly three-quarters of San Franciscans believe that tourists make their city better. Following closely is Seattle, with a score of 85/100, where more than three-quarters of residents have offered recommendations to tourists. Vancouver places third, with 89% of residents having helped tourists with directions. Kansas City and Toronto round out the top five, with scores of 68/100 and 64/100 respectively. Kansas City residents are known for their honest recommendations, while Toronto residents are eager to help tourists find their way.

On the other end of the spectrum, Boston is revealed as the least-friendly city, with a low score of 27/100. Around 1 in 7 Bostonians admitted they have ignored tourists approaching them for help. Atlanta follows with a score of 40/100, where a quarter of residents confessed to offering questionable recommendations. Los Angeles and Dallas also rank low, with scores of 41/100 and 48/100 respectively. Los Angeles residents sometimes refuse to give directions, while Dallas residents have a high self-perceived friendliness score but still rank low. New York City places fifth with a score of 49/100, where nearly one-quarter of locals believe that tourists make their city worse.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
