Webster Lim Wins $965,000 at Triton Poker SHR Series Vietnam, Honors Mentor

Webster Lim has made a significant mark in the poker world by winning the Triton Poker SHR Series Vietnam event, earning a substantial $965,000 prize. The event, held at the Hoiana Resort & Golf near Da Nang, attracted a record-breaking 166 entries, surpassing previous records by 35 participants.

The tournament featured a mix of high-stakes players, including notable figures like Paul Phua, John Juanda, and Punnat Punsri. However, it was Webster Lim who emerged victorious, outlasting competitors like Chris Brewer and Roman Hrabec in a thrilling heads-up battle. Lim's strategic play, particularly his ability to sniff out bluffs, proved crucial in securing his win.

In a heartfelt moment, Lim dedicated his victory to his mentor, Ivan Leow, who tragically passed away in 2022. Lim expressed his gratitude and miss for Leow, stating, “All my close friends know mine and his relationship. Without him, I wouldn’t be here. So I just want to say that this win is for him. This is for you Ivan. I miss you.”
