Warsaw EPT: Russians Make Their Mark in Thrilling Tournament
The Warsaw leg of the European Poker Tour (EPT) kicked off with six Russians participating in the tournament. The day was marked by intense action and notable performances from several players.
Peter Eastgate was one of the early casualties, eliminated after losing a hand to Moreira. Carter Phillips experienced a streak of bad luck, losing multiple all-in hands despite his efforts to rebuild his stack. Jeff Sarver, however, had a strong performance, becoming the chip leader with over 900,000 chips.
Anatoly Gurtovoy made a notable call against Lukas Vasek, ultimately winning the hand. Vitaly Lunkin secured his place in the prizes with a series of successful all-in moves. Konstantin Puchkov made a comeback from a short stack, securing a place among the leaders. Alexei Yuzikov and Dmitry Vitkind are mentioned as participants, with Yuzikov advancing to the next day. Five Russian players made it into the prizes, a notable achievement for the EPT.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
