Vanessa Selbst and Scott Seiver Lead the NAPT Tournament

The second day of the NAPT tournament began with a missed bad beat by Daniel Negreanu. His opponent made a raise with aces, and Negreanu, holding a pair of eights, went for a set but was interrupted by an aggressive all-in move from the big blind with 9x 9x. Negreanu did not survive to the flop, which showed Ax 8x x. He would have had to call and see the turn: 8x. Unfortunately, a push from the nine-holder ended his chances.

Phil Ivy doubled his stack quickly after a series of raises and bets. Allen Kessler made a raise of 2,600 from an early position, received a 3-bet of 7,200 from David Kerns, and a 4-bet of 28,200 from Ivy. Kessler folded, Kerns called with Js Jc, and Ivy showed Kh Kd. The flop was Ah Ks 2d, and the turn was Jh, but Kerns did not get to see any outs, as Kessler immediately stated he had folded the last valet. Ivy's stack grew to around 60,000.

Jason Mercer faced a challenging table with players like Peter Jetten, Aaron Lerner, and Rory Cox. Despite the tough competition, Mercer started well with a winning all-in hand of 8x 8x against Ax Kx, earning 75,000 chips. However, he later lost more than half his stack in an all-in situation with Ax Kx against Kx Qx, where one of the queens was in the pass. It was unusual to see Mercer in such a situation.
