Twitch Faces German Regulator Scrutiny Over Gambling Ads
Twitch has received a warning by the German gambling regulator Die Glücksspielbehörde (GGL) over non-compliance with local laws regarding gambling advertisements. The platform has until January 1, 2023, to tighten its policy.
In October 2022, Twitch introduced a ban on unregulated gambling sites. However, the new regulations appear to have been rushed, and streamers spotted a loophole within a day or two.
German gambling regulator Die Glücksspielbehörde (GGL) said that Twitch must tighten its policy by January 1, 2023. In the new year, the GGL will begin taking action against the biggest offenders who repeatedly advertise prohibited sites to German audiences.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
