Treasure Island Ends Free Slot Play Promotion Early Due to Massive Crowd
Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas ended a promotion offering $200 in free slot play after just three days due to overwhelming response. The promotion, advertised through email, app notifications, and mailers, was supposed to run until Sept. 7. However, the casino had to cut the promotion short due to the massive turnout.
Gamblers reportedly waited in line for up to six hours to participate in the promotion. The casino ultimately cut the promotion short, with a representative stating, “Due to overwhelming response, the offer reached its planned capacity earlier than anticipated.”
Social media users expressed frustration and confusion as the casino cut off the line, assuring those already in line that the promotion would be honored, only to later tell them they were out of luck. The promotion required players to wager all of the $200 in one session, with an average return to players on penny slots on the Strip at about 88%.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
