Toni Guoga to Back Mysterious Poker Pro Isildur1 in 2010

Toni Guoga, the owner of PokerNews, has announced his intention to become the backer of the mysterious Swedish poker player Isildur1 in high-stakes cash games. In a pre-New Year's blog post, Guoga shared his admiration for the young player, comparing him to his younger self and highlighting Isildur1's exceptional skills. Isildur1 can play simultaneously on eight tables against the world's strongest players, a feat that Guoga finds impressive given that Isildur1 has only known the rules of Omaha for eight months.

Guoga revealed that he knows the real identity of Isildur1 but will keep it a secret, stating that it is better for everyone to maintain the mystery. He also mentioned that Isildur1 does not wish to pursue legal action against FullTilt despite calls from the community on forums like 2+2. Guoga believes that Isildur1's focus should be on building a multimillion-dollar bankroll and enjoying life.

Toni Guoga has a history of supporting poker players through his project ChipMeUp, where players can buy and sell shares in tournaments. He sponsored 20 players in the main tournament of the 2009 World Series of Poker and hopes to help even more players in 2010. Guoga also plans to participate more frequently in WPT and EPT tournaments in the coming year.
