Former Poker Pro Shares Insights on Retirement and New Ventures

TiltMeNot, a regular head-to-head PLO player, announced his retirement from poker in February 2026, after 15 years of playing at the highest stakes. He now focuses on business, investments, and cryptocurrency.

TiltMeNot hired Elliot Roe for consultations to improve his game, paying him a four-digit sum for each hour. Elliot Roe advised TiltMeNot to consider a new career path, which TiltMeNot initially disliked but later appreciated as it saved him years of struggle.

TiltMeNot now owns two fitness studios in Los Angeles and is involved in cryptocurrency investments. He lost $1 million in a head-to-head game against Erik Sagstrom, known as TheSalmon, due to ignoring his selection principle. TiltMeNot invested in Zcash at $360 and sold it at $280, learning the importance of having an edge in investments.

TiltMeNot's liquid portfolio includes $505K in bonds, $292K in index funds, $250K in AI/technology, 15 BTC, 40 ETH, and $55K in other assets, with over 65% invested in real estate.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
