Stanislav Zegal Wins Inaugural WSOP Paradise Main Event for $2,000,000
Stanislav Zegal won the inaugural WSOP Paradise Main Event, taking home $2,000,000. Zegal defeated 3,010 players to win the $5,000 buy-in event. The prize pool was almost $15 million. Zegal entered the event as an online qualifier.
Zegal's poker journey began 18 years ago playing for the smallest micro-stakes. He decided to turn professional in 2016.
The large field contained numerous high-profile figures from the poker world, but only Matt Glantz survived until the sharp end of the event. Daniel Neilson took a sizable chip lead into three-handed play. Zegal managed to flop like a deity with king-queen against the Ace-king of the Australian. Michael Sklenicka bluffed a river with seven-high and it was all over. Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker, praised the inaugural series.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
