Spanish Poker Stars Shine in International Tournaments
Spanish poker players have been making waves in recent international tournaments. Vicent Boscà won the High Roller event at the Merit Poker Classic in Cyprus, taking home $276,360. The valenciano outlasted 68 other players, including Anton Morgenstern, who finished in second place with a prize of 195.445 €.
Sergio Aído also had a strong showing, finishing fourth in the Triton Poker SHR Series in Montenegro. He earned $486,859 in the event, which was won by Bryn Kenney. Aído's elimination came at the hands of Daniel Dvoress when his A3 could not overcome Dvoress's K5 in a preflop all-in.
Closer to home, Alberto Díaz secured a victory in the SPFn Madrid. He won the Main Event, taking home €1,700 and the trophy. Díaz's win came after a heads-up battle with Iulian Enache, where Díaz's straight beat Enache's flush draw on the river. Additionally, the CEP Donosti tournament has begun, with coverage provided by Poker-Red and Guillermo Sanz "Willo".

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
