Sean Winter Wins Poker Masters Finale, Adrian Mateos Clinches Purple Jacket

Sean Winter closed out the 2026 Poker Masters in style, taking down the $51,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em finale at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas for $620,000.

Adrian Mateos won the purple jacket. Sam Laskowitz earned $387,500 as the runner-up. Winter came into the final day third in chips with seven players left. Winter told PokerNews that stepping away from the schedule for one tournament helped him find his form. The result moves Winter to 2,223 points on the 2026 PGT leaderboard, making him the first player to pass 2,000 points this season.

Mateos finished the series on 451 points from three cashes. Mateos told PokerNews that he had a big lead all the way, but in the last three events he wasn’t able to cash, so the sweat was real. Nicholas Palma ended the series second on 407 points, while Nicholas Seward took third on 397 points. Dan Smith was the first of the final seven to go. Chris Brewer busted on the bubble in sixth when his ace-jack ran into the pocket aces of Jeremy Ausmus. Marius Gierse was the first player to cash, falling in fifth for $124,000 when his ten-nine could not beat the pocket queens of Sam Laskowitz on a ten-seven-six flop. Igor Yaroshevskyy was sent home in third with $248,000 when his queen-jack could not beat Winter’s king-ten. Winter began heads-up with close to a three-to-one chip lead. The tournament ended when Winter’s two pair held against the top pair of Sam Laskowitz.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
