Scott Seiver: Poker is in My DNA, I Don't Even Need to Practice Anymore
Scott Seiver's professional poker career began at a young age, with his grandparents teaching him to play gin and bridge before he even started kindergarten. Seiver started playing poker in middle school with a $0.25 ante on his parents' kitchen table. He celebrated his 18th and 21st birthdays by going to a casino.
Scott Seiver has won $27 million in tournaments, seven WSOP bracelets, and the title of WSOP Player of the Year 2024. Seiver has 49 six-figure finishes and five seven-figure finishes in tournaments. Seiver's grandfather, Stan Seiver, enjoyed playing cards four times a week and lived to be 95 years old.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
