PokerStars and FanDuel Merge, Bringing Back Iconic Sunday Million
PokerStars has officially merged with FanDuel, combining player pools from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan. This move, announced on Wednesday, sees the U.S. platform of PokerStars becoming part of the FanDuel app, both brands owned by online gaming giant Flutter Entertainment.
PokerStars didn’t offer the iconic Sunday Million event to players in regulated U.S. markets due to geofenced restrictions on how big field sizes could be. With its new platform and larger player pools, PokerStars is claiming to bring back the Sunday Million event. The first U.S. Sunday Million in more than a decade runs on April 12, with two events at different price points, each with $500,000 prize pool guarantees.
PokerStars has shed market share over the last year, reportedly falling from being the top operator in the US behind BetMGM and WSOP Online. As part of the PokerStars relaunch, the company announced a $150,000 guaranteed freeroll “No Sweat” tournament series. In addition to the US launch, PokerStars will be available on the FanDuel platform in Ontario, Canada, later this year.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
