Poker World Buzz: Cates, Dwan, Hansen, and Negreanu in the Spotlight
Daniel "jungleman" Cates gave a quick interview to the magazine CardPlayer. He discussed his recent activities and plans, including his upcoming birthday celebrations in Vegas and Atlantic City. Despite promising to resume his game with Jungleman, Tom Dwan has already left Vegas for a tournament in Hong Kong.
The FTOPS XVIII tournament started on Full Tilt, lasting until November 21. The first tournament (NLH $200+$16) ended with a three-way deal, with sir29 taking the largest prize of $121,304.16. Ilari lost $301,000 to Daniel "jungleman" Cates in a PLO match. Gus Hansen won a bridge tournament on November 4.
Daniel Negreanu criticized the 2+2 forum in an interview with PokerTube, stating that the forum often overestimates its influence and that users tend to be overly negative. The 2+2 community responded with a mix of criticism and humor, including photoshopped images parodying Negreanu's comments.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
