Phil Galfond Calls for New Challengers After Third Galfond Challenge Victory
Phil Galfond, the renowned PLO wizard, is actively seeking new challengers for his high stakes PLO duels, known as the Galfond Challenge. Following his third match victory, Galfond reiterated his readiness to take on any elite PLO grinder in the world.
In his first match, Galfond faced off against VeniVidi1993, a high stakes crusher. Despite VeniVidi1993's strong start and a nearly €1 million lead, Galfond made an amazing comeback, winning the match by a narrow margin of €1,671.58.
His second match against Actionfreak was equally impressive. Galfond emerged victorious by €114,765.66 after 15,011 hands of €150/€300. Chance Kornuth, who had a scheduled 35,000 hand challenge, did not finish his match. After 25,400 hands of $100/$200, Kornuth was $726,500.00 in the red and had to capitulate. Bill Perkins also faced Galfond and lost $90,000 in just 862 hands. Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates has a micro challenge booked of only 7,500 hands, while Brandon Adams has 40 hours of $100/$200 to come, but there is no start date set yet.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
