Aaron Mermelstein and Qinghai Pan Crowned Champions at PGT PLO Venetian
The PGT PLO Venetian series concluded with two significant victories. Aaron Mermelstein emerged triumphant in the first $5,000 PLO event, defeating Dylan Linde heads-up to claim the title and a prize of $42,000. This victory marks Mermelstein's first PGT triumph and brings his recorded tournament earnings to nearly $5.1 million.
In the second $5,000 PLO event, Qinghai Pan secured the top prize of $51,300 by defeating Sam Soverel heads-up. Pan's performance has been exceptional this season, with two titles, eight final tables, and 11 cashes totaling $810,520. This places him third in the tour’s year-long standings with 823 PGT points, trailing only Yuri Dzivielevski and Andrew Lichtenberger.
Sam Soverel, who finished as the runner-up in the second event, earned $28,500. Notably, this comes just five days after his earlier victory in a $5,000 PLO event, where he won $89,100. Soverel's success has positioned him 12th in the seasonal points race.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
